Creation of the Florence School of Banking & Finance at European University Institute
The Florence School of Banking & Finance has been set up by the Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze in collaboration with the European University Institute. The mission of the school is to become, within five years, the leading platform in Europe on the subject of training, high-level policy debate and research regarding the regulation and supervision of the banking and finance sector of the European Union. The course has been included in the normal curriculum and training offer of the EUI. The European University Institute therefore designs the programmes required to help all interested professionals to keep abreast of the European developments in this rapidly-evolving sector, also contributing to create a common culture in the sphere of banking and financial supervision.
The main aims of the course are: to provide a European hub for independent and critical thought and informed debate, bringing together scholars with practitioners operating in the sector; to help professionals to keep up-to-date with European developments in this quickly evolving field, contributing to the creation of a common regulatory and supervisory language in the Banking & Finance sector; to provide access to an academically-solid and practically-relevant knowledge base from a multidisciplinary perspective.
