The Fondazione Parchi Monumentali Bardini e Peyron was set up by the Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze in 1998. It was created in the wake of the project for the rehabilitation of the properties belonging to the Bardini legacy promoted in the 1990s, and the subsequent acquisition of the complex of Fonte Lucente belonging to the Peyron family.
The aims of the Foundation are:
- the renovation of the Bardini complex, made up of the buildings and the gardens on Costa San Giorgio;
- the enhancement of Villa Peyron in the Wood of Fontelucente in the hills of Fiesole, with the related art collections and naturalistic and environmental resources;
- the design, creation, renovation and management of buildings, museums and monumental gardens; the creation of museum, bibliographical, archive and scientific collections; the organisation of exhibitions and events regarding art and antiques and the performance of study, research and documentation activities in the sphere of history of art and architecture; the coordination and offer of activities of support and organisation for other Bodies and Associations with purposes similar to its own.
